Right now we are connecting, you reading this, me finding the words to share. Communication is doing it’s thing and bringing us closer together. Since I was I kid I’ve been on a mission to try to understand how connections form, are maintained, and how they enable us to grow. I didn’t always know I was on that mission but, with reflection in my adult years, it’s what I’ve learned about myself. I’ve studied communication most of my life to help take me deeper into how we can connect. I once spent a week in total silence to see what that might teach (spoiler alert, a lot!).

Throughout my life I’ve been fascinated by questions like; “how are powerful connections formed?” or “how can I create stronger understanding?” or “how can I fix a connection that seems broken?”. Trying to find the answers to these questions took me on an immersive journey into the world of communication that has now bought me to you. I’m so happy to be here.

I grew up in a small working class town in England and have since traveled the world taking my voice with me everywhere I’ve been. I’ve witnessed my voice grow hugely as I took my journey. From delivering Q&A for an award winning documentary film on stage at London’s Empire Leicester Square, to discussing the merits of a cheese sandwich at Mt Everest Base Camp. I’ve traveled a long way from where I started. My first job as a professional communicator took me to live in the foothills of the French Alps, which led to only the second time I’d ever flown or seen a mountain. I now live in Canada, where I’ve had to learn to speak English in a whole new way, eh? I’ve helped to tell stories that have reached hundreds of thousands of people achieve their goals, take action, and create the change they needed to succeed. My voice lead me to create Listen Hear and offer it to you. I hope you find something in what I share to help you unlock your own unique, powerful, inspirational and wonderfully effective ability to communicate. There’s so much opportunity for us all to thrive and Listen Hear is designed to help you do that.

I started my working life delivering newspapers so I guess I’ve always been sharing stories. As a teenager I worked in the local video rental store helping families choose a movie they could all enjoy together, or couples find a film to set the right mood. I’ve always loved stories but it wasn’t until well into adulthood, having helped some of biggest financial institutions and tech companies in the world to tell their stories, that I found myself in Hollywood sitting on a TV set in Paramount Studios (having driven the entire Route 66 to get there) that I was able to realize I had my own story to share. Listen Hear has become that story for you now.

My hope for Listen Hear and particularly The Listen Hear Way is that it helps you to grow your voice, communicate with confidence, connect with ease, to help build the world around you that you actually want to live in, and help others to do the same too. What I’ve learned over the years is that the primary purpose of communication is about bringing people closer together. It helps to create understanding when misunderstanding is taking hold. Communication can be medicine, protection, empowerment, or salvation. Because communication is how you share your story, how you make sense of the world, how you find and create your place within it.

I’ve spent a lifetime kind of obsessed with how we are all connected and how we might bring those connections into sharper focus. I created Listen Hear to help you access what has taken me so long to learn so that you might grow your own voice more quickly in a way that works for you. Listen Hear is designed to meet you where you are and grow with you as you need.
